Do you dream about owning a florist business?
What's been holding you back from being your very own bloom, boss?
You see the incredible florists on Instagram making stunning flower arrangements, and it all looks so dreamy and oh-so fulfilling, right?
Do you say things like "I wish I had a creative business, one that I could have flexibility and even run from home if I want to, if I could just get paid for doing something I love, it would be so fulfilling."
But... how do these florists on Instagram do it? How did they get started? "I have a full-time job and other things that get in the way, how would I find time?"
Working without it feeling like work is the ultimate career goal, don't you agree?
Job satisfaction is close to the top of most people's wish lists. Nobody wants to sit back in their 80s and wish they had worked more or worked harder, but many say they wish they had followed their passions. Let's not be one of those people....

more about the teacher
Yvette Timmins has covered everything in Floristry from Casual Florist Assistant to Apprentice, Senior Florist, Florist shop manager, Florist Shop Owner, Floristry teacher and Principal of her school, Bloom College she founded in 2013. Yvette was a founding director and board member of Australia’s peak national body, Flower Industry Australia. Yvette is also a co-founder of the charity Floral acts of kindness, which was set up by Bloom College graduate Dr Isabelle De Solier. The charity delivers flower bouquets to nursing homes and hospitals. It could be said that Yvette’s passion and skill for working with flowers is in her blood. Yvette’s Grandmother, Great Aunt and Great Grandmother were all florists. Yet Yvette will tell you that arranging flowers is not an inherited special skill reserved for only a few, but rather is available to everyone. Yvette believes we are all born with an innate sense of creativity and a need to connect with nature. Arranging flowers feeds both of those human needs simultaneously; the only requirement, she says, is to enable the process by getting our own inner negative self-talk and criticism out of the way. Creating a comfortable and nurturing environment allows our creativity to flow. The ongoing positive flow on effects that Yvette has witnessed first hand over her 30+ years in the industry include, but is not limited to, a decrease in feelings of anxiety and depression. Yvette is passionate about many causes, yet possibly the highest on the list is the need for greater opportunity to connect with nature and our creativity for the purpose of generating positive effects on our mental health. It is this reason Yvette has developed Bloom College courses online and via the App to ensure people are not restricted by location or mental or physical ability.
